Western Sydney Architecture

weird futuristic house

Some simple shots of a bike ride around the suburbs. None i particularly like though. I loved the 52 project (http://www.52suburbs.com/), and I'd love to do some project that describes my area and life here. This will be a long ongoing thing. Many similar posts to come

Sydney Winter Festival

Three things about me, I like ice skating, pretty lights, and anything covered in ice cream. So the Sydney Winter Festival was perfect for me :D some pretty bad photo quality :/ mostly blogspot's fault :S
I'm really thankful I didn't fall over ice skating as there were a lot of on lookers and it would've been very embarrassing :/

sipping a little warm wine. it burned my lip
eating up the waffles. Not as tasty as real Belgium waffles... nice try though

Happy Winter in July Sydney!
The best part though was walking back through Hyde Park and seeing all the rats scurrying around from bin to bin. We were also lucky enough to happen upon the Possum Whisperer. An old homeless man with a bag of food? Two possums came waddling along in a trance. Man I love possums.

An Experience You Like

For my final photography assignment last semester, we were given the brief "an experience you like". I'm quite fascinated with street photography and the urban environment. Some street photography emphasises this "unnaturally quiet" aspects of urban living that doesn't sit quite right and has you on edge. Where noise is unwanted in the country, it is favoured, I find, in the city. In my neighbourhood, only the brave venture out alone. A small young girl like me sure can't!! It's the only time the streets are ever relatively quiet or empty, except for the occasional hum of an engine and drunken youthful laughter. I find the urban night to be quite mysterious... with so many people in a small area, there's always someone doing something; and I find myself imaging what that could be, early hours of the morning, forever undiscovered. So, though my pictures show my unease, it's still an experience "I like" because I find these things very interesting haha

The Reveal

An animatic which developed from a comic, to a storyboard, and to this video. I found it hard to communicate my idea in comic style, probably because I'm not much of a comics fan. However I do love films, so I found creating a storyboard quite enjoyable and easy to visualise what I wanted. This was the first time I ever used Flash, so I'm quite proud of it!

The "reveal" is a comic book character, sick of living between the pages, busts out and into the "real" world.
